We are Kevin and Therese Leimback, we have been in basenjis for 14 years. We are currently members of the Basenji Club of America and the Evergreen Basenji Club.
We believe we are responsible for the lives we bring into this world and any dog not able to be kept by an owner is returned here to us.
We work to help other good breeders place as well as Basenji Rescue, if we can't meet your requests we usually know who can.
We recommend people read what they can about our breed, but meeting the dogs in a breeders lines as well as a breeder you can connect with is far more important.
Health information is available on the BCOA website and we recommend you take all that information to heart. BCOA Website Link
Please remember a puppy is a new family member and Do Not Buy Over The Internet. Your breeder will be your best resource for training, advice and support. Find a breeder you can work with, trust me there is one close by no matter where you live.
Our first basenji was difficult to say the least, our breeders were what got us through. We have experienced health problems in some of our earlier dogs and want no one to endure what we went through. We breed only our best and strongest dogs.
We are educated in the most recent recommendations for vaccines and treatments, we can share the information in writing and advise you follow up with your own vet. Pups that leave here have been seen by a vet, at that time thoroughly examined, given initial vaccines and microchipped because we want every pup to get off to the best possible start.
Our home is our dream for our dogs, 7.5 acres fenced and double gated with indoor/outdoor areas for the dogs when we are away from the house. We call it our Basenji farm and we spend most days watching the dogs run the property.
We have attended many seminars in dog training including Ceasar Milan and Quinton Leham in years past. But the majority of our training comes from Tom Lams who has many years in training all breeds for all functions. Tom and his wife Kay have been a tremendous resource for us in raising pups and training adult dogs as well as working with problem dogs in our breed and other breeds.
In recent years we have begun donating our time and energy working with junior showmanship. We believe these young people are the future of our sport and encourage participation whenever possible. This is our way of giving back to our sport.
