Our Girls....
News Flash! Scroll down to read about Halo's First Points!
Luci was our first basenji, she has IPSID and in her later years has developed Cancer. She is tiny but tough and enjoys the life of being spoiled. Below is Luci bossing puppies around, her favorite pass time.

Ali was my third basenji and most promising show dog. We refer to her as the world's most Beautiful basenji and she has come to believe us. At nearly 1 year she developed Red blood cell aplasia we believe from over vaccination of parvo vaccine. With the help of WSU vet school and Salmon Creek Vet Clinic in Vancouver Ali was saved, it took three blood transfusions from Dove Lewis and the prayers of many friends to bring her through a disorder that usually kills. Before her second birthday she finished her Canadian championship and went on to finish her AKC championship taking a 5 point major at EBC Specialty winning, Winner's Bitch, Best of Winners and Best Op Sex. You could still make out the saved patch from her bone marrow extraction while she was in the ring and on that day there were many people in and out of the ring crying when she won. Champion is just not enough to describe our Princess Ali. She was never bred but has tested "probably clear" for Fanconi, hips OFA good and eyes are clear. Ali is most known for her ability to "yodel" or "baroo" by hand signal which was as show steeler with the judges.
Panda was a delight to live with, she took her first major at 6 months old and charmed all she met. To our surprise good friends Patti and Ed McCarroll came to meet some of our boys to take one home, Panda would not have that...she decided Patti and Ed belonged to her, they felt the same. Panda returned to us at the end of that year to have a litter and now lives a life of luxury with her family. Panda was not tested for Fanconi because the test was not available before she was bred (both her parents tested "probably clear" ) she will be tested when the genetic test is available, hips OFA good and eyes iris/iris ppm. She has low thyroid and currently takes a thyroid supplement.

We tell Karma she is the adopted child, Kevin flew down to see a litter of Carol Webbs of Kazor basenjis. Karma was his pick and I agreed. Tail wagging and yodeling are just a couple of the best things about living with Karma. Watching her run with her grandfather Bailey and her BFF Clover would make anyone smile. To date Karma has taken down 5 bunnies on our property, she is the best hunter I have ever seen and very happy to bring me any kill she makes. Karma is scheduled for her first breeding this year and we expect she will bring us great pups. Karma is our only dog that tested "probably carrier" for Fanconi, after consideration we decided to continue with her in our breeding program because she also has OFA excellent hips and completely clear eyes. Put that all together with her personality and structure and she made our decision easy.

Miranda lives with the Stamper family, she is being handled by one of her owners Kevin Stamper who is also showing her in junior showmanship. Miranda was co-bred with Lisa and Bryce Hart and is a welcome addition to our breeding program. She recently took two majors and started her show career taking reserve at the EBC spec as a pup. Plans are to breed Miranda next year, we are still considering the sire for her. Miranda tested "probably clear" for fanconi and her eyes have iris/iris minor ppm. She has not yet had her hips tested, they will be done before breeding season next year.

Clover was bred by Jordan Reed of Atarasi Basenjis. Her father is Ace and when we were offered a pup back in exchange for stud fee we jumped at the chance. Clover was an easy choice as she looks very much like her Great Aunt Ali and has her fathers personality and color. She quickly stole the heart of all dogs and people in our household. To our surprise and delight she seems to be able to also charm judges. Her first weekend out she took a major at Cascade Hound club, then she followed up by taking Best in Sweeps at WVBC and then on to Winners Bitch and Best of Winners for a 5 point major. She has since taken two more points all from the puppy class at under 8 months old. She truly is a little bit of luck and is fast becoming spoiled rotten. Watch for Clover in the show ring to finish with style. She has not yet been tested for Fanconi or hips, eyes are one eye iris/iris ppm.

Halo lives in Seattle with our friends Tara and Marty. She started her show career at EBC specialty this year winning her class and being pulled with two others for considation of Winners bitch. She followed up by showing wonderfully for her 8 year old handler and owner Ari. These two heard cheers and applause for their first effort in the ring. I'm not sure which I was more proud of Halo or Ari for their brave efforts.
Watch fo Halo who is just starting her show career at upcoming shows. Congrats to sister Dolce, Foresses La Vita Dolce and breeder Sharla Bruce for taking her first points in Southern California.
